First Ever Surf + Kite Trip

Had a great time with a crew of 7 multi-disciplinary Dutchies. They came ready for all conditions, from surf, to stand-up, to kiteboarding and very windy weekend that usually would have made for a couple no-sessions days, ended up being perfect for the kites. They did a 4 km downwind run in what they told me were good conditions (I have absolutely no kiting experience). We also were able to score a handful of fun sessions at our local left-hand point, a couple of the crew described these sessions as the best in their lives. That’s always encouraging to hear as a guide, and I thoroughly enjoyed their crew and their laid back, positive vibes.

The last couple weeks has been pretty bad here, with unfortunate Northwest winds ruining all of our swell, but the conditions have finally turned today, and it is looking like a fantastic week of small to medium sized, rippable swell. On top of that the WSL CT has kicked off, and watching those guys shred is good motivation to go surf. So here’s to a fun week of swell!
