The Zeppelin

Description

Whether you’re going to California or when the levee breaks, this is the board you want. We called it the Zeppelin because, well, it kinda looks like a blimp. A great summer board for shorter period surf ranging from head high down to knee to waist, this daily driver takes care of all your small surf needs.

At 19 1/2″ to 21″ wide, this board has the definition of a “full” outline. Paired with its high volume (2 3/4″ to 3″ thick) this board is a wave catching machine. To balance out these extreme dimensions, we stepped the tail down to a tail that is narrower and tapered the rails down to be moderately aggressive. Combined with a moderately flat rocker and a single to double concave, you end up with a board that paddles very easily, creates tons of speed (even in smaller surf) but can still fulfill your desire to lay into a turn. A wide machine made for the less than perfect days, that can still lay down some turns when the opportunity arises.

Usually glassed with a 4oz bottom and 6+4oz deck, we can throw a 6oz on the bottom for bigger guys, or for someone looking to make this board last a bit longer. Usually ridden as a thruster, some times a 5-fin set up will give you the options you need to stretch the range of this board a bit into larger surf.
