Description

When it’s El Niño, and the waves have gone XL-XXL, its time to take it to the Next Level. Named after the head shaper (“Next Level” Bale) this is the board you want to be on when the faces are 15ft+. Designed after getting repeatedly decimated on our 6’8″ Crabs boards, this board has the foam to get you in early and the design to get you to the shoulder, if you are willing to make the paddle out. A standard gun outline, long and narrow with a pin or rounded pin tail to help you hold your line, these boards are designed with only big surf in mind. High volume throughout, but especially in the chest area to get you into the waves as early as possible. Extreme nose rocker keeps you from doing the high dive and a mostly flat bottom that transitions gently to a V in the tail helps get you off the the shoulder quickly, but with control. The rails aggressive, but full from the nose tapering down to quite thin in the tail, to give you as much volume as possible without sacrificing control. This board one thing before all else, and that is a wave catcher, because if you can’t get into the wave, then nothing else really matters. Usually, the people ordering these boards have a clear preference between thruster and quad on their big wave set ups, but if you haven’t made up your mind yet, a 5-fin is a good choice. Glassed very heavy (6+4oz fin patch on the bottom and 6+6+4oz deck) to withstand the beatings of big surf, but also to keep you on the face in windy days and in control on choppy surfaces. We will glass lighter, but only upon specific request. If you’re ready to take your surfing to the next level, this board is ready as well.
