The Bean

Description

Named for the cruisey, mellow left-hander and its resemblance to the legume, the Bean is our take on a mini-malibu (funboard). Easily catching waves and quite stable, the Bean is an ideal board for an easy Sunday morning cruise or for beginners looking to improve.

A very wide and round outline, relatively low rocker, and full volume with chunky rails mean that this board is, quite simply, a wave catching machine. We pulled in and thinned out the tail a bit so that you can still push into your turns, but this board is no performance machine. The flat entry transitions to a shallow single to double concave, meaning that his board is very quick, but still predictable in a variety of conditions.

Generally set up as a thruster, we can also install a single fin box in the center to let you cruise this board like a mini log. We tend to stick to the slightly heavier 6oz bottom with 6+4oz deck on this board, to help it hold up for longer and to keep it planted in choppier surf.
